Shane O'Donnell - Partner
Shane studied Corporate Law in National University of Ireland, Galway between 1997 and 2001 before completing an LLB, also in Galway. Shane worked with Richardson's Insurance Brokers from April 2004 to April 2005 and was involved with briefing clients on the introduction of the Personal Injuries Assessment Board as well as advising on compliance with various Irish Financial Services Regulatory Authority regulations. From April 2005 to April 2006 Shane worked for HSBC Securities Services Ireland as an Investor Dealing Specialist.
From April 2006 Shane worked with one of Ireland's largest Legal Costs Accountants and has gained significant experience in the area of Legal Costs. Shane is proficient in drawing and preparing bills of costs as well as the taxation of disputed costs before the Taxing Masters and County Registrars.
Shane has developed significant experience in analysing files and engaging in settlement negotiations both directly with solicitors and with other legal costs accounting firms. He is also proficient in opposing bills of costs and reducing exposure via settlement or taxation. Shane has been involved with a number of high profile legal costs cases in recent years, including a number of tribunal, commercial and planning matters and has represented the State, various County Councils, ESB, CIE, National Roads Authority, AIB, as well as some of the country's largest solicitors. Shane qualified as a solicitor in 2010 and is an associate member of the Institute of Legal Costs Accountants.
